In today’s video, we are taking a look at one of my favorite topics and productivity hacks drafting and using AutoCAD in general, Automation. In particular, automating text within AutoCAD by using fields to populate common and helpful pieces of text throughout our drawings.
Using Fields in AutoCAD is not only easy, but it can also prevent errors and forgotten updates that could be costly or simply embarrassing when missed.
Text automation can be used to save time, ensure accurate counts, areas, and scales, as well as simply make our lives easier. In the video, I show you how fields work, how to insert or create fields, as well as 4 different ways I use fields to save time, including creating a plot stamp from scratch!
