MAKE Your Own AutoCAD Aliases in Minutes!

Hey All,

I’m excited for this week’s video and to re-start (hopefully) regular Monday emails where I share a new workflow, tip or advice to try out each week.

Subscribe to the Design X Technology newsletter to get weekly tips/advice to stay current in the AEC and Design industry!

This week I wanted to build on some of my previous tutorials and tips revolving around customizing AutoCAD as much as possible to suit our own work and type of drawings best.

Customizing the GUI including toolbars, menus, display/layout and quick commands are the highest returning tweaks when it comes to setting up the software to help us rather than work against us.

In the video below, I share a super quick trick that lets us customize almost any command alias or short command within AutoCAD to save us time basically every command we use.

From changing existing commands like C to Copy instead for Circle, seriously, h0ow many of use are using the circle command more than copy?? Or even customizing new short commands like the num-pad keys, 1, 2, 3, etc.. to quickly change views, or simple access less common but useful commands.

Check out the video now:

Hopefully, you liked today’s video and will try it out for yourself.

Let me know which commands you’re going to customize this week?

That’s all for today, I hope you enjoyed this week’s video and I would love to hear what you think? Be sure to let me know by hitting reply or sending me a message over on twitter @cadintentions
