Hey Everybody!
Brandon here and I’m back with another new tutorial. In todays video I go over a really powerful and useful feature in AutoCAD, FIELDS! Fields in autocad are a way to automate and auto fill in text using various attributes from your drawing file/properties.
In the example in the video I walk you through how to create a custom plot stamp by using fields to insert the drawing path into an mtext object on your drawing. We also use a field to add in the date, time and name of the last save of the drawing.
Check out the video below:
Plot stamps and fields can be invaluable for your drawings and can take your title blocks/templates to the next level for automation. They can also be a huge lifesaver when it comes to filling out your drawing title block info using a sheet set (Make sure to check out my Sheet Set course for a lot more info on that!) http://cadintentions.com/courses
As always, thank you so much for watching, and don’t forget to let me know what tip, trick or tutorial you’d like to see next in the comments or if you’re having issues with your sheet sets.
Cheers and happy drafting!
Just in case you haven’t seen it yet, I recent wrote and AutoCAD book: The AutoCAD Productivity Handbook
check it out and let me know what you think!
