Coming to IMAX screens this week (Feb 18th) Dream Big: Engineering our World is a movie I’ve only recently learned about but I was instantly all in. From their website:
Narrated by Academy Award® winner Jeff Bridges, Dream Big: Engineering Our World is a first film of its kind for IMAX® and giant screen theatres that will transform how we think about engineering. From the world’s tallest buildings and underwater robots to a solar car race and smart, sustainable cities, Dream Big celebrates the human ingenuity behind engineering marvels big and small, and shows how engineers push the limits of innovation in unexpected and amazing ways. With its inspiring human stories and powerful giant-screen visuals, Dream Big also reveals the heart that drives engineers to create better lives for people and a more sustainable future for us all.
Dream big was produced in partnership with the American Society of Civil Engineers in hopes of inspiring Kid and adults alike to the challenges, compassion and innovations from people of all walks of life who have worked to innovate, create and engineer our world around us.

Similar to the new Netflix show: Abstract: The Art of Design that I wrote about last week and highly recommend, I love that there are new educational and incredibly interesting shows being created that highlight our industry of engineering and design to the masses. I really hope that they are both greatly successful and spawn even more great content in the field. I know I’ll be showing my Son (he’s only 3 months old, but eventually) these shows to hopefully inspire him to follow his passion and to be as creative as he wants with whatever he loves.
I know I’ll be watching as soon as I can and will likely be posting some updates here on the blog and to twitter. Will you be looking to see Dream Big? See the list of IMAX theaters it’s playing in here: http://www.dreambigfilm.com/theatres/

Cheers and happy drafting!
PS. Have you seen my post about the Rise of Digital Drafting Tables and the future of how we design?
