Galaxy Note10: A Powerhouse for Portable Design – News, Details and Info

Hey everybody,

I haven’t been keeping up with my tech/news posts lately but I want to change that and get back into the habit of sharing news of interesting, unique and cool tech that appeals to myself as a designer and I think you the readers as well.

So to give the series a kick-start I wanted to share some info and my thoughts on today’s #GalaxyNote10 announcement. Today Samsung announced the new upgraded Note10 and Note10+. For those of you not familiar with Samsungs Note series of phone, the Note phones are their high-end model of smartphones aimed at professionals in a variety of industries. The Notes tend to include among other upgrades, a dedicated built-in smartpen (S Pen) that is able to write directly on the screen, greatly expanding the usefulness of the phone for designers, artists and creatives in general.

It’s because of the S-Pen, along with the upgraded specs that I’ve been a long-time advocate of the Note Series as the best smartphones available for designers, engineers and professionals.  In a competitive market for professionals that use their phone as much as possible for their work and day to day needs, the Note Series will typically provide the best-integrated experience for professional work especially if you are looking for the ability to seamlessly use the S Pen for writing or design.

On top of the unique hardware, the Note series also delivers top of the line specs and a handful of business-specific boosts, like integration with Microsoft Office and One Drive as well as longer battery life and the ability to expand your storage to over 1TB! Which is insane for a phone and one of this size. Along with the ability to control powerpoints with the S Pen and Handwriting recognition to name a few.

Other improvements for this year’s model include the upgraded Cinematic Infinity-O Display and Photo/Video upgrades that make this phone closer to a DSLR and editing machine than many of the other options on the market. I know I could basically replace most of the hardware that I use for my youtube channel and blog with just the Note10+.

I know I’m very excited about this new release and honestly can’t wait to try it out when it’s available, my current daily driver is the Galaxy S8+ with Telus Mobility and I’m certainly in need of an upgrade soon!

It looks like to can pre-order them now with a ship date of August 23rd from Telus (Canada).
If you’re looking to reserve a Note10, you can right now for $1,199 on the Samsung US website and $1725 through Telus (Canadian) here. I’ll be sure to update this post as more info is available and then hopefully some hands-one content on the channel once they’re available.
