Hey Everybody, Brandon here and I’m finally back to the blog, with the first post of the new year and it’s a January/Start of the year round-up post featuring new posts!
This month marked the beginning of an exciting collaboration I’ve been working on with the AutoCAD Blog, where I have been writing Tuesday Tip articles for their blog and making companion Tuesday Tip videos to go along with each post and posting them on my Channel. It has been a lot of fun so far and I’m looking forward to continuing the series, today post will serve as a quick recap of the post and I hope that you’ll check them out if you haven’t seen them already.
I’ll start with the first Tuesday Tip post on the AutoCAD Blog where I show you a few great ways to take advantage of FIELDs in AutoCAD and how they can be used to save you a ton of time as well as provide real-time updates to important text in your drawings. If you have ever wished you could automate a specific piece of text, whether it was for an area or block count, or perhaps most helpful, to automate a viewport scale label, then this post is a must read for you.
Here is the Article on the AutoCAD Blog: Fields – Make your text smarter: Tuesday Tips
And here is the Fields Video on my CAD Intentions Channel:
In the Second Tuesday Tip Post and last for this months round-up I walk you through how to use Nested Copying (NCopy) in AutoCAD to quickly and easily copy objects that are nested in an external reference or even a block and paste them into your current drawing. This can be super helpful when you just need to use or copy a line, or piece of text from an Xref (External Reference) but don’t want to copy everything into your drawing.
Check out the full detailed Article on the AutoCAD Blog here: NCOPY – Swipe Text and Objects for External References
In the video I also go over 2 extra ways to copy objects from an External Reference (Xref) depending on the situation, so make sure to watch till the end to get some bonus tips!
See the Video for NCOPY Below:
That’s all for today’s round-up post, I hope you all check out and enjoy these great posts, they have been a ton of fun to work on and I’m excited for more posts to come. Be sure to subscribe and follow on twitter @cadintentions to keep up to date and be the first to get updates on the next Tuesday Tip Article coming in the next weeks.
As always, thank you so much for reading and watching, I am super excited to be back and posting regularly on the blog this year and look forward to it all.
Cheers and happy drafting!
